Girl Fight.

Yesterday, while driving my shitty car around the suburbs I came to stop at a red light, and at this light and in the lane next to mine was a long and yellow school bus filled to the brim with children, seemingly sweaty and testy and eager to be home.

I was staring into the space that is the vast receiving exit/entryway at the back of the bus when my eyes finally focused on the fact that the childrens movements through the window had become the obvious jerk and pause of an irritated mob.
I also noticed that they were all probably in the 2nd grade, and they were all girls.

Angry girls.

I might even say pissed off girls.

A bunch of pissed off eight year old girls fighting at the back of a bus. They had the pink and purple turtlenecks, the matching belts and the long pigtails, but they were quickly becoming uneven as I watched the playground queens scratch and push each other with dedication and fury. This was obviously a fight for a position in the heiarchy.

I was totally horrified but totally transfixed and actually kind of giddy at the same time.

I could not look away

and I could not stop laughing.

I felt guilty when after Matt explained the synopsis of Lost Boys of Sudan, I said, "Oh! That sounds good!"... ikes. I mean... shit.
I am an ass.

The Voice

At the beginning of this year I had to force myself to stop listening to The Voice, Mr. Roy Orbison. He was all I would listen to, in the car, at home, on the computer. Now ever since I stopped I can't bring myself to listen to him again. I definitely couldn't listen to him with other people in the room.

As a small side note, if there is ever a movie made about the man, I believe John Hodgman should play the lead.

He has the chin.
